Five iPhone screens showing the in-editor digital-goods flow: avatar dressed in a purple jacket with a wardrobe rail, an in-editor cart with three selected pieces and a 650-token total, a Meta Credits top-up sheet with price tiers, the native iOS App Store In-App Purchase confirmation with a Double Click to Pay prompt, and a sparkle confirmation that credits have been added

Context

Avatars live across social apps used by billions — messaging, stories, profiles — and a dedicated metaverse platform on mobile and VR. The editor is the wardrobe: where identity gets put together for every surface.

Challenge

My role

Led the integration hands-on. Owned how digital goods live inside the editor — and how the adjacent flows (checkout, rewards, inventory, wishlists) stay coherent as one system across two product orgs.

Three iPhone screens showing the in-editor challenges-and-rewards flow: a home feed with a 500-token balance and a 'Fired up hoodie' challenge card, an item-acquired sheet revealing the 3D avatar in the new flame hoodie with View in editor and Equip actions, and the equipped state confirming the hoodie is now worn — all without leaving the editor
Earn → unlock → equip — challenges and rewards live inside the editor

Impact

Editor became the dominant surface for creator revenue — majority of all 3P sales.

Beat the joint annual revenue target shared across both product teams.

Thousands of creator items reaching users at the moment of highest purchase intent.

AI Editor users spent significantly more — AI proved out as a monetization lever.
